Liquid Intelligence 235 creates a permanent seal. The ester and phenol chemical combination swells, softens and rejuvenates the physical properties of dried and hardened seals.

STOPS Breakdowns and Premature Aging

Liquid Intelligence 235 swells, softens and rejuvenates wiper seals. Wipers / scrapers seals are the hydraulic systems first line of defence in protecting a system and keeping it free from dirt, mud, water, and other contaminants. Contamination particles in the hydraulic system are the most common reason for breakdowns and short service life of seals.

Premature hydraulic system failure is often due to particulate and moisture contamination via worn cylinder seals.

With their constant exposure to dirt, particulates, and the elements, the hydraulic cylinder seals used on heavy equipment are susceptible to frequent wear. Dirt and other contaminants can adhere to exposed cylinder rods, making the surface uneven and abrasive. Over time, the dirt continues to build up, eventually wearing down the cylinder seals and allowing contaminants to enter the hydraulic system. Once in the system, these particulates act as a lapping compound, which can wear down valves and pumps, and lead to premature system failure.

Will Work For You If You Have The Following Kinds Of Seal Wear

1. Gradually Increasing Leakage

Characterized By:

• Progressive wear and drying
• Increasing compression
• Progressive tear or erosion from initial nick.
• Fine score mark on dynamic surface.

2. Slow Uniform Leakage

Characterized By:

• Poor low-pressure seal ability
• Too little initial interference
• Loss of interference or squeeze due to wear or compression set
• Seal shrinkage after installation.
• Microscopic debris lodged under seal lip
• Scored lip due to passage of sharp particle under seal, leaving cut or nick.
• Seal lip nicked or cut during installation (note whether leak starts immediately after seal installation).
• Non-repetitive overheating hardens compound (which loses its ability to conform to dynamic surface deviations).
• Off-centre alignment puts all clearance on one side, all compression on the other (due to bearing wear, excessive side loads, etc.)

3. Erratic (Stop/Start) Leakage

Characterized By:

• Cold start up
• Intermittent eccentric loading
• Fibrous contamination working its way past seal lips.
• Unstable seal (twists & returns, cocks, etc.) usually caused by shock loading.
• Rod seal leaks slowly, tight wiper periodically dumps accumulated leakage .
• Fluid viscosity changes as temperature cycles (e.g. fork lift truck alternately entering and leaving cold storage area).

Will Not Work For You If You Have Sudden Copious Leakage

Characterized By:

• Extruded seal
• Torn seal lip
• Twisted seal
• Dramatic bearing failure due to excessive side load, shock, etc
• Spiral failure
• Massive infusion of contamination (due to incorrect fluid added to system, or to upstream introduction of dirt or wear debris).
• Slow rod seal leakage builds up behind tight wiper, then dumps…giving appearance of catastrophic seal failure. If leak rate then diminishes, look for slow leak or erratic leak causes. If high leak rate continues, look for true catastrophic leak origin.
• Reverse-pressure blowout of piston seal due to pressure trap or failure of opposed seal.

Liquid Intelligence 235 will rejuvenate dried and hardened Buna-N, Polyacrylate, Neoprene Rubber, Styrene-Butadiene Rubber, and, Polyacrylonitrile hydraulic seals.
