Cooling System Sludge Remover

Cleans oily cooling systems back to new, without disassembly.

  • Removes oil sludge after gasket or cooler failure
  • pH-neutral, safe for all cooling system metals
  • 1,200× the emulsifying power of competitors
  • 1L treats up to 20L of coolant

Cooling System Sludge Remover

After a head gasket or oil cooler failure, Liquid Intelligence 238 removes emulsified oil sludge from radiator flutes, water jackets and heater matrixes using pH-neutral dispersion technology, without disassembly.

With emulsifying levels 1,200 times greater than competitors plus enzyme catalyst boosters, one litre treats up to 20 litres of coolant.

It also dissolves water pump grease build-up in vintage cars, and the oily residue that combustion gas seepage leaves in diesel cooling systems. It won't damage metal, plastic or rubber, and works with workshop oily water separators.

Why oil sludge is so hard to shift

A leak from a head gasket, or an oil or transmission cooler, first shows as an oily sheen on top of the coolant. It often goes unnoticed, and the oil builds up into a thick, milky sludge until the vehicle overheats. The damage that caused it has to be repaired first; then the sludge has to come out.

That's normally a difficult, time-consuming job, even for a professional. The greasy, high-surface-tension sludge blocks coolant channels, radiators, hoses and heater matrixes, and strong detergents, solvent or caustic degreasers and home remedies won't shift it. Mechanics often flush for days with strong acid or alkaline cleaners and still leave oily gunk behind, and those harsh cleaners can corrode and damage the cooling system further.

Some engines are known for it. The Holden Cruze's oil cooler can develop a crack over time that lets a lot of engine oil into the cooling system: once the cooler is replaced, 238 removes the sludge.

Grease from vintage water pumps

In vintage cars, grease can seep from old, worn water pump seals into the cooling system and build up as sludge. 238 dissolves that too, so it can be flushed away.

How 238 works

238 works differently from detergents and degreasers. Its pH-neutral dispersion breaks up even the thickest oil and water emulsion and converts it into a water-soluble, soap-based compound, which then flushes out of the cooling system with an ordinary garden hose.

It's a quick-breaking formula: it separates the oil molecules and reduces their size, so they disperse in water. It's 100% concentrated, with an enzyme catalyst booster, and it's biodegradable and non-corrosive, so it won't harm any of the metals in a cooling system.

Now some 2 months later I am really happy to report that the coolant is completely free of any oil contamination.

I purchased your Cooling System Oil sludge Remover in June of this year to use in a ford transit where the oil cooler had leaked into the cooling circuit. As instructed I applied the product in 2 lots half a tin each time. the cooling system had already been flushed by the mechanic who replaced the oil cooler, however the coolant still showed substantial oil contamination. He had advised he could do no more as he had already flushed several times.

The first application of your product resulted in a very black coolant discharge. After the second application following your instructions I flushed the circuit with a hose until all the soapy residue was clear and then refilled with the correct coolant. Now some 2 months later I am really happy to report that the coolant is completely free of any oil contamination.

Thank you for your patience and explanation on the phone at the time of purchase, I am really pleased with the product and think it is great value for money.
