Anti-Shudder Additive
Liquid Intelligence 236 boosts the friction modification of automatic transmission fluid. It stops torque converter shudder, clutch chatter, and the accumulator piston shudder that causes harsh gear changes.
Its friction modifiers also improve the performance of the planetary gears, bands and clutches, shift valves, servos, accumulators, governor and modulator. It exceeds all OEM ATF specifications, lowering the coefficient of friction and increasing the fluid's film strength.
It's safe in most automatic transmissions and compatible with conventional and synthetic ATFs. It isn't recommended for ZF, CVT or DSG transmissions, or any transmission that needs a very specific high-friction ATF.
Torque converter shudder
When the lockup clutch inside the torque converter starts to wear with age, you may feel a shudder at around 50–70km/h. It's very noticeable, like driving over a corrugated dirt road. As the converter switches to direct drive, the worn clutch makes the change rough and causes the vibration, which may start and stop abruptly and not last long.
If you've felt it several times, 236 is usually worth a shot. It works straight away: if the shudder or chatter carries on after you add it, the wear or damage may be too far gone and need a mechanical fix.
Accumulator piston shudder
A spring holds the accumulator piston at the top of its bore while the transmission idles. As pressure builds under acceleration, the piston strokes down its bore and absorbs some of the fluid pressure, softening and delaying the shift.
When the piston sticks or rocks in a worn bore, gear changes become sudden, fast, sharp and extremely harsh. 236's friction modification stops the piston sticking or rocking.

Add 50ml of 236, one syringe, for every 5 litres of automatic transmission fluid. You can do it yourself.
