Silicone DOT 5 Brake Fluid

Liquid Intelligence 126 is a silicone DOT 5 brake fluid for any application that specifies DOT 5 silicone, and it exceeds the FMVSS 116 specification. It gives fade-free braking in the most demanding high and low temperature extremes, and lasts up to ten years, where most brake fluids need changing every two.

It won't damage paintwork. Glycol fluids eat paint if they're spilt or leak from the master cylinder, and can start rust; 126 simply polishes off. It's non-toxic, non-corrosive and non-irritating, and doesn't affect plastic or painted surfaces.

Why silicone

Ordinary glycol brake fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1) absorb moisture from the air. Over time the water lowers the fluid's boiling point until it can boil under hard braking, which leads to brake fade or even brake failure, and damage. 126 doesn't absorb water, so its boiling point stays high: it only starts to boil at 260°C.

• Less corrosion: with no moisture in the fluid, there's less rust and corrosion, better sealing and longer component life.
• Kind to seals: glycol fluids can make rubber seals deteriorate. 126 is compatible with SBR, EP, neoprene and natural rubber.
• Better lubrication: it lubricates the master cylinder and brake pistons, preventing the abrasion between sealing cups and pistons that can happen under pressure, for a consistent seal and brake feel.
